PDF import FAQ
Your questions about importing PDFs, images and text into Estuqia, and how to get the best results.
Accepted formats
PDF (with or without selectable text), JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images (automatic OCR), plain text and Markdown pasted directly.
Limits
150 pages max per document. Longer documents must be split. Maximum file size: 100 MB.
Scanned vs text PDFs
Estuqia auto-detects whether your PDF contains selectable text. If not, OCR (Gemini 2.5) takes over to recognise the content image by image.
Image quality
For notebook photos, shoot flat, without strong shadows, with even lighting. 1080p minimum recommended.
Frequently asked
My PDF won't import, what should I do?
Check that it doesn't exceed 100 MB and 150 pages. If so, split it into separate files.
Are diagrams recognised?
Yes, diagrams, tables and formulas are recognised and restored in the summary. The mind map structures them visually.
Can I import several documents at once?
One document at a time for now. Batch import is on the roadmap.
Are my PDFs stored?
Yes, in private encrypted storage. You can delete them anytime from your profile.
